ABOUT PROJECT
“Bar and Breakfast” is a name, a guiding concept of this place, and a new format for our city. The challenge presented to us was clear: create a space where the boundaries between day and night, coffee and cocktails, or casual and vibrant seamlessly blend. A space that invites guests in the morning and keeps them engaged until midnight. A space where every visit feels natural, intuitive, and distinctly memorable.
IDEA
The interior design embraces eco-friendly materials— stainless steel, plywood, recycled concrete terrazzo, and linoleum— demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. We found authentic Austrian terrazzo tiles at the site, which we demolished and reused on the podium floor. This approach is reinforced by recycled Soviet-era parquet flooring and colourful linoleum tables, all contributing to the project’s sustainable ethos.
When you enter, a high-ceiling room welcomes you, where you can find a small, sleek bar in the corner and many bistro seats. The atmosphere is relaxed yet energetic, accentuated by custom retro-look ceiling light panels.
Remaining faithful to our commitment to authenticity and adaptive reuse, we embraced the existing elements of the building. Among the most striking discoveries were the mid-century green wall tiles, which we have preserved and integrated into the design. It added depth and historical resonance to the space.
Another key element is the hidden DJ booth, which serves as a sleek, stainless steel table for four during the day. The table, made from 4mm stainless steel, is durable and visually striking while discreetly housing a subwoofer. By night, the space transforms into a DJ booth, with the precision of the stainless steel joints and edges contributing to the industrial-chic vibe of the venue.
The second hall shifts the focus toward a larger bar where alcohol shelves meld with oversized speakers, creating an ambient bar-meets-club concept. Glass blocks in the windows filter light to create a soft, intimate atmosphere. At the same time, small tables and vintage chairs evoke a sense of effortless charm. The result is a raw yet refined space that balances undone and elegant.
In the third hall, we wanted to optimise the layout to enhance the flow of the space. The solution came in the form of a raised podium that divides the room into two distinct areas. The lower level accommodates traditional restaurant seating, while the elevated space features sideways seating, ensuring clear views of the surrounding area. A passage at the rear leads to a VIP lounge, adding to the space’s exclusivity and seamless flow.
Bathrooms have become integral to the overall customer experience in contemporary hospitality design. These spaces’ functionality, cleanliness, and aesthetics are essential, contributing to the guest’s perception of the entire venue. We choose every detail—from the cabinetry and colour palette to the mirrors, faucets, and towel-equipped trash bins— to enhance comfort and convenience.
This project exemplifies how modern restaurant interiors can be aesthetically engaging and highly functional by carefully integrating sustainable materials, optimised spatial flow, and multi-functional design elements.
The immediate visual impact of the space comes from the big arched windows, which you can fully open. This action helps merge the indoor and outdoor environments.
