The project of this apartment in Lviv was carried out by the designers from replus bureau. They combined ancient building architecture and modern comfort in the premium execution and created a cozy penthouse. The play of lights and shadows is its special feature which adds up to its unique character. It seems that the apartment is soaked with the sun as picture windows and glass doors cross the boundary between the interior and the street. Therefore, the designers made the most of out the access to the light and used it as the indisputable advantage.
The open space interior has a range of characteristics: materials, which will be always on the time, are stylishly combined with interesting designer’s tricks and modern styles. However, nothing in this apartment distracts from the most important thing – the panoramic city landscapes, which can be overlooked from the terraces (there are two of them: one of them overlooks the southern part, the other one overlooks the northern part). The terraces became the main elements of the décor and the space definition; they create the natural play of lights and shadows which better than any décor adds up additional design effects.
Overall, only one color of the walls and only one type of floor are used in the apartment so as not to distract from the beautiful play of lights in the interior and the picturesque landscapes. The space is represented as a loft in a minimalistic style. As for the decoration the designers preferred the natural colors, among the materials the chosen ones were wood, marble, metal, and open brick. These became the powerful core of the project which will fascinate more and more since the chosen materials will look even more attractive over the years. Nowadays, they demonstrate various patterns and textures and break the one color monotony of the surface.
The overhead fireplace adds up to the concept of light space. The central object of the room is the flexible form of the wall which hides the hamam, guest room, and a closet. The owners of the apartment are the true connoisseur of art and for that reason the décor is represented with bright art objects which attract the looks.
The kitchen zone is full of laconic design items, multifunctional island and a separate traditional table. Build-in furniture and equipment take care of the visual order and add up the contemporaneity, all of it is in the best traditions of minimalism. The dining room flows into the living room, and special lamps in the central part of the apartment provide the uniform illumination of all the zones. There are so many windows in the bedroom that the owners can enjoy sunrises in the early mornings and sunsets in the evenings. It is especially pleasing to do while relaxing in the bath which is, by the way, located in the same room next to the window.
